Blue Orange Green Pink Purple

Day Two - I Think...

Brilliant well i've arrived safe and sound, and i'm in the flat so no trouble so far. Long haul flights however are not fun, and definatly should not be done. Ever. To be fair I was amazingly lucky to find that A: I had a window seat and B: The guy who was meant to be sitting next to me must have missed the flight so I had a nice lot of room, always a good thing but it was still an extremely tedious 11 hours with the only entertainment looking at the 12 inch tv screen for hours on end or talking to the french guy next to me. Anyway enough about flights.
I got met by Tucker, a shanghainese local a bit older than me, who managed to shoo away all the people waiting to take advantage when I stepped out of airport and led me safely from pu dong to pu xi (east->west of the river) where the flat resides. I was really suprised actually to find loads of other volunteers in the flat (6 others) and it actually left me feeling a little overwhelmed especially after the solitude of the long flight but everyone was really friendly so it was all fine. Tucker showed me around and helped me get my chinese sim card as well as my travel pass.
I'm staying in this flat until next friday when I move to Pu Dong Primary School where I will work with a fellow volunteer Albin who is from Sweden. And yep he does have blonde hair and yes you guessed it blue eyes.
The first evening I went out with the most of the volunteers to a club which everyone had heard of but noone actually knew the way so we ended up walking around for about an hour before we actually found it. Shanghai is a big place especially when you don't really understand what is happening and I still haven't got my barings yet so at the moment I just follow everyone else around a bit like a sheep but I'm getting better...
To add to the chaos I call a body clock I didn't get back until 6 am, so who knows if I'm gonna be able to sleep tonight but still I feel fine and it's not been to much of a problem.

Right that's enough blogging for one night,
goodnight! 好睡

When I said China, did you say itinerary? Thought so.
So the plan, the massive plan is as follows:
I'm flying out on Friday the 13th of February, quite an omen if you ask me, and I arrive 19 hours later after a 11 hour flight in Shanghai Pu dong airport on valentines day.
I get met by Jessie, who I imagine will become essentially my Chinese deity, keeping me safe from harm and the like.

    But then what happens?
I'm teaching in a school didn't you know. Until like the end of June. Then I'm gonna travel around a bit, go to japan stuff like that...
