    Dear Ben ,we were told that we should read your blogsite and so here we are and finding most interesting your comments about your early days in china. You do seem to be having some adventures, and meeting some interesting encounters to practise your mandarin in. It is v good that trying the local lingo is much appreciated by those you meet. It seems a good start to your trip, and we hope that your colleagues are an interesting crowd. v best wishes g + p

    we are following the blog with great interest and look forward enthusiastically to each episode.Not yet translated the introductory mandarin pinyin but are working on it! Hope weather is improving, - and the language,- and the teaching technique is gaining confidence Best wishes g/p

    When I said China, did you say itinerary? Thought so.
    So the plan, the massive plan is as follows:
    I'm flying out on Friday the 13th of February, quite an omen if you ask me, and I arrive 19 hours later after a 11 hour flight in Shanghai Pu dong airport on valentines day.
    I get met by Jessie, who I imagine will become essentially my Chinese deity, keeping me safe from harm and the like.

    But then what happens?
    I'm teaching in a school didn't you know. Until like the end of June. Then I'm gonna travel around a bit, go to japan stuff like that...
